Scouts, Non-Scouts, and Race Fans are all welcome to engineer an official Pinewood Derby car and compete in one of three classes:
- Youth (Gr Pre-K-5)
- Older Youth (Gr 6-12)
- Adult!

Scouts, Non-Scouts, Parents, Leaders, and Community Members, join VVS Pack 25 and the Erie Canal Scouting District, for this fun-filled Pinewood Derby complete with a Tour of the Pits at our host, the Utica-Rome Speedway!

Friday, August 7th, Off to the Races!
While it is required that you register for this event, Admission to the Utica-Rome Speedway is free for youth 0-11 years old (children under 12 years of age have one Adult Partner free at Admission).
Check-In starts promptly at 4:00pm and goes until 5:00pm during which time your car will take a trip to the Pinewood Derby Pit-Stop where it will be weight-checked and inspected prior to the race!
Race Starts promptly at 5:00pm and ends at 6:15pm!
Who will take away a Trophie this year!
Tours of the Pits at the Utica Rome Speedway start at 6:15pm and end at 7:30pm!
Awards Time! 7:30pm
Celebrate the success of every Participant’s Pinewood Derby Car at this event’s Awards Ceremony and go home with a commemorative Patch from the Erie Canal District’s Community Pinewood Derby 2026!
